Franciscan Health Indianapolis offers our Family Medicine Residents a generous package of benefits, including competitive salaries.

Anticipated salaries as of 2023-2024

  • First-Year Residents: $65,058, plus $7,000 sign-on bonus

Time off

  • First-Year Residents: 20 PTO days*

  • Second-Year Residents: 20 PTO days*

  • Third-Year Residents: 23 PTO days*

  • All Residents: nine paid holidays each year

  • Leave of absence for sickness, maternity, paternity, education, military and other approved reasons.

* Can take 5 days off (PTO or CME) during a 4-week rotation or 2 days off during a 2-week rotation. If taking a Monday or a Friday off, can request to get the adjacent weekend off.

Continuing Medical Education

  • CME time: 5 days per year for virtual or in-person CME

  • $1,700 annually for tuition and travel expenses to conferences

  • A one-time $1,700 high-track CME allowance for PGY-2 or PGY-3, which can be used for a high track conference of resident's choice

  • BLS, ACLS, ALSO, PALS, and NRP training

Moonlighting:

  • Various opportunities to do paid sports physicals for elementary, middle and high school students

  • Opportunities for those interested in sports medicine to provide paid coverage for local high school sporting events

  • Step 3 USMLE or Level 3 COMLEX licensure reimbursement. Study materials/question banks for board preparation are also reimbursable.

  • ABFM certification reimbursement.
